Spring Rowing on the Water Starts March 20th

Tuesday, Thursday evenings 5:30-7:00pm

Saturday mornings 7:30 - 9:00am

The first 8 weeks will be a combination of on the water, ergometers and barge rowing as weather and water permit.

 


 


 



 


 


 

 

 
Directions to Jones Ferry

Jones Ferry River Access Center and our boathouse are located on Jones Ferry Road off of Main Street in Holyoke.

 

From I90 (Massachusetts Turnpike): Take exit #4 (West Springfield/I91 exit). After passing through the toll booth, bear right to the Rt. 5 exit. Merge onto Rt. 5 North (Riverdale St. / Holyoke). Follow Riverdale Street for about 8/10 of a mile. You will come to a traffic light and a fork in the road. Bear right at the fork onto Main Street. There will be signs directing you to Rts. 116 and 202 and Holyoke Center. Take the first right onto Jones Ferry Road. There will be a sign for a community garden at the entrance to the road. Turn left into the parking lot.

From I91 Northbound: Take exit #14 (Mass Pike). Stay on the left side of the exit ramp and follow the signs for Rt. 5 Riverdale Street. Take the Rt. 5 North (Riverdale St. / Holyoke) exit then follow the directions for I90.

From I91 Southbound: Take exit #14 (Mass Pike). Stay on the left side of the exit ramp and follow the signs for Rt. 5 Riverdale Street. Take the Rt. 5 North (Riverdale St. / Holyoke) exit then follow the directions for I90.

PARKING:

If the lot at the boathouse is full, please park along Main Street which is the street you turn off of to access the boathouse driveway.

Kayak Fun Races

Tuesday Night Kayak Fun Races

Starting Tuesday May 21 join us for informal kayak racing and workouts. Paddlers keep their own times.

Starts 5:30pm at the Boathouse.

Ocean Kayaking

We have a limited number of openings for a series of ocean experiences, culminating with a circumnavigation of Manhattan. You must have advanced ocean kayaking skills and either own or rent an sea kayak of a minimum 17' length. There will be three trips off New Haven prior to the Manhattan trip - you must make at least two trips and demonstrate a sufficient level of skill.

Third Sunday (and one Saturday) Kayak Trips

May 20 - Saturday - CT River, Montague to Sunderland

June 17 - Swift River, Belchertown
 
July 15 - Tully River and Reservoir
 
August 19 - CT River - Enfield to Weathersfield
 
September 16 - CT River - Oxbow and Manhan River

First three trips are suitable for all levels. Last two are full day trips for people in good physical condition.

Practice is 3:15 - 5:00pm Monday - Friday

Middle school program will meet 3/week
