Kayak and Canoe Programs

We offer many kayak and canoe day trips throughout the year. Kayaks, caoes, paddles, life jackets and other equipment are provided. Participants are expected to bring their own food and beverages. Deposts are required 10 days in advance of these trips. Please watch this space for information on springtime trips.

May 11, 2008 - Sunday - Mother's Day Paddle - Connecticut River from Pauchaug Brook State Ramp to the Riverview Picnic and Recreation Area at Northfield Mountain.
About an eight mile paddle.

Cost: $35.00/person.

This includes: use of a kayak or canoe, paddle and pfd.
If needed, shortee wet suit and wet suit booties if you do not have your own.
A paddling jacket is available if the conditions suggest that we will need this protection.
All other related accessories and gear is included.
A trailer will haul boats to and from the paddling locations.
bring your own lunch, snacks, and water.

May 17, 2008 - Saturday - Undetermined destination. Where would you like to paddle?

Cost: $35.00/person.

June 7, 2008 - Saturday - An instructional day with some touring. We will explore the topic of on-the-water navigation as it relates to paddle boats. We will be using deck mounted and hand-held compasses.

Cost: $35.00/person.

This includes: use of a kayak or canoe, paddle and pfd.
If needed, shortee wet suit and wet suit booties if you do not have your own.
A paddling jacket is available if the conditions suggest that we will need this protection.

June 22, 2008 - Sunday - Kayak skills and rescue/problem solving clinic. A freshwater lake. Location will be a reasonable driving distance within the Pioneer Valley.

Individuals and families can also obtain seasonal memberships with Holyoke Rows. A kayak/canoe membership provides for unlimited use of kayaks and canoes when the boats are not in use by other members or for other club programs. Click here for more details and a membership application.
