Youth Rowing 2007 Season
The Holyoke Rows Youth program is open to all 8th-12th-grade students from any area middle school or high school. We have a beginner squad and an experienced squad for both boys and girls. There are no tryouts. Everyone willing to work and commit to a team is welcome. We will go to three area competitions during the spring of 2007. We need both strong people to row and assertive small people to steer the boats and keep them on course. We have hired a new coach for the youth team, Tim Canada. Tim rowed and coached for the UMass men's team and has recently worked with youth while living on Cape Cod. We are extrememly excited about the level of commitment and experience he brings to our program. Be ready to work hard! Practice will begin on Monday, April 2nd at the Jones Ferry Boathouse at the Jones Ferry River Access Center. Practices will be held Monday through Friday from 3:15-5:00pm. Rowers should come ready to workout with sneakers and warm clothing.
